Both hydraulically & pneumatically driven, TRAC’s RRV mounted drilling rigs are used when carrying out stabilisation works, greatly improving safety and efficiency on site.
The Valtra tractor is model T121 producing 160hp. With PTO drive from front and back, it can also be used in reverse drive mode to enable operations from the tractor in both directions ensuring all round visibility.
Mulching operations are carried out using a rear mounted PTO driven Noremat 7 metre reach mulcher with 18no double sided cutting hammers. The cutting drum can rotate in both directions enabling mulching operations when driving in forward or reverse.
The grapple saw is operated by remote control. It fully rotates & spins so can cut at any angle, even horizontal branches. It combines the features of a vice-like grapple that locks onto the branch with a chainsaw that cuts through it within seconds then lowers it to the ground in a safe & controlled manner.

‘SV129’ is equipped with twin hydraulic drum carriers which are unique to the UK market.
Each drum carrier can be independently rotated from the body to direct wire or cable at the adjacent line, and each can reel in or feed out under tension if required.
The unit’s powered feed out is capable of alleviating tension during cable laying on drums of more fragile material such as fibre.
The integral Palfinger Crane allows the unit to de-mount its own drum carriers and utilise a flatbed as a robust and self-sufficient material handling machine.
The lorry is capable of towing up to two trailers which can be transported on the bed and self-loaded, further increasing its material handling capacity.
TRAC’s Valtra Tractor Mulchers are an industry leader in mechanically assisted trackside vegetation maintenance.
One tractor is capable of clearing through several miles per day of dense bramble and gorse commonly found trackside which could take more than 10 people to clear conventionally with power tools in the same timeframe.
